Becoming a Member
 
1. Is it really free to join?
Yes. You may join for free and create your profile with photos of yourself. However, not all features are available for our free members. As a free member you will only be able to contact other members through email. For unlimited access to the chatrooms and instant messenger it is recommended you become a supporting member.
 
2. What features are available to free members?

We provide free membership with limited features for our non-supporting members. These include email, access to our Safe Sex and Meeting Online pages, access to our Gallery of Hotties, You Give Me a Woody notes and our Matchfinder feature.

3. How can I become a member?
Simply click on "Register" button on the toolbar at the top. Becoming a member is easy and FREE. You will need a valid email address to sign-up.
 
4. Why should I become a Supporting Member?

Supporting Members have access to all our standard features; email, access to our Safe Sex and Meeting Online pages, access to our Gallery of Hotties, You Give Me a Woody notes and our Matchfinder feature.

They also have access to our premium features:

  • Chat
  • Video Chat
  • Instant Messaging
  • Live Video in their profile
  • Inclusion in our Gallery of Hotties (if desired)
  • Inclusion of Contact Information in their profile (email and cell phone only)
  • Profiles get listed before any free members' profile in search results

Logging In
 
1. Do I have to log-in each time I visit?
No. If you would like to be automatically logged in click the "Remember Me?" box when you sign in.
 
2. I forgot my username and password, what do I do?
Simply click on the "Sign-In" button at the top, and then click on the "Forgot Password?" link. Enter either the email you used when you registered or your username and your login information will be sent to your email.
 
3. Does this site use cookies?
Yes. This site requires your cookies to be enabled. You can enable them by doing the following:
1. From the browser menu, select Tools -> Internet Options....
2. Select the Privacy tab
3. Set the slider to 'Medium' 4. Select Advanced
5. Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
6. Click OK to exit.

My Profile
 
1. Can I change my profile?
Yes. You can change your profile at any time. The administers of this site need to approve any changes that you make. We do this in order to keep out any derogatory, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate material.
 
2. Can I add pictures to my profile?

Yes. After signing in click on Your Member's Homepage. Here you'll find links to upload pictures of yourself. You may also password protect your pictures so only those members that you would like to share your photos with can see them.

Absolutely NO scat, urine, underage, torture, or beastiality (whether real or implied) will be allowed. You may NOT use copyrighted pictures; you must have permission to use the photos you post.
 
3. Can I add a video to my profile?

Yes. After signing in click on Your Member's Homepage. Here you'll find links to upload pictures and/or a video of yourself.

Absolutely NO scat, urine, underage, torture, or beastiality (whether real or implied) will be allowed. You may NOT use copyrighted videos; you must have permission to use the video you post.
 
4. How do I use the Live Video feature?
In order to use the Live Video feature you must have your own webcam already setup and you must install our Live Video software. Please click on the Live Video Settings link on the left to download our software and for more instructions.
 
5. Why was My Profile not approved?
The rejection email you received from us will indicate why your profile was not approved and what changes you need to make to your profile. Just make the necessary changes to your photo and/or profile text and your profile will be reviewed again. The Administrators at SeriousHookupsM4M are very liberal concerning what may be posted to your profile, but we do not allow any illegal, disrespectful, hateful, or otherwise unappropriate material.
 
6. Why was My Picture and/or Video not approved?

3. Who do you use to processes the payment?
As of now we are still in the process of setting up our processing. We are working on integrating CC Bill with our site. Once this is setup we will send out email notices to all our members.

Using the Site Features
 
1. How do I find other members?
You can find other members by clicking the "Search Member Profiles" link on the left. You can search by member's name, by members status and location, or by any criteria you choose. Or you may choose to browse through our member profiles by clicking on the "Browse" button on the toolbar at the top.
 
2. How do I find Who's Online Now?

To see which member's are online the same time you are click on the Who's Online Now link at the top left or the link at the bottom of each page. This will bring you to the Who's Online Now page and show you everyone who is online right now. If you would like to limit the results (i.e. to people who live near you) select one or more of the options at the top of the page and click submit. You may also sort the results in descending or ascending order by clicking the heading of the column you would like to sort.
 
3. What is My Status and how do I change it?
The My Status is perhaps the most important information in your profile. It shows other members what your are looking for in an online meeting. You can your status at any time by click on the "Change Your Status" on the left.
 
4. How do I send a member an email?
There are two ways you can email another member:
1. Click on the "Check Your Email" link on the left. You will be taken to your inbox where all new messages to you will be shown. Click on the "New Message" link and you'll be able to send your email.

2. Or when you are viewing a member's profile click on the "Send a Message" link.

This feature is available to Free and Supporting Members.
 
5. How do I Instant Message another member?

When a member is online the Instant Message Icon () and link will be activated in his profile. Just click this link and a new box will appear where you can send your message. You will also see this icon in Search results and Who's Online results. If the person you want to contact is not online the icon will be grayed out () and you will not be able to IM him. Instant Messaging is for Supporting Members only.
 
6. How do I join a Chat Room?
Click on the "Join a Chat/Cam room" on the left. A new box will appear showing all the rooms that have been setup. Some rooms have been setup by other members and require a password to enter. This feature is available to supporting members only.
 
7. What is the You Give Me A Woody feature?
When you're viewing a member's profile you'll have the option to send him a "You Give Me a Woody" note. This is an email saying your are interested in meeting and a link to your profile which will be sent to that member. This feature is available to Free and Supporting Members.
 
8. What is Matchfinder?
Matchfinder is a powerful email notification system where you set the criteria. Click the "Matchfinder" link on the left, select your criteria, and when a new member joins who meets your criteria you will be notified by email. This feature is available to Free and Supporting Members.

Acceptable Use and Content
 
1. Is Nudity Prohibited on SHM4M?

SeriousHookupsM4M.com, its owners, or employees do not necessarily encourage or promote nudity or sexual expression on our site, but users should be aware that in the Video, Audio and Tex Chat and in the IM features of the site, they may encounter this. These are pieces of the site in which users communicate privately, as they would for example using the telephone or video phone, and thus users speech and expression (including sexual expression) is free, and protected by our constitution.

Basically, nudity is allowed throughout the site, but sexually explicit photos or videos are not allowed on profiles. In Video, audio or text chat, and on IM, we do not prohibit sexual expression, as it is protected expression.

Absolutely NO scat, urine, underage, torture, or beastiality (whether real or implied) will be allowed. You may NOT use copyrighted pictures; you must have permission to use the photos you post.

Privacy
 
1. How can I make it so only the people I want to contact me can?
Click on the "Privacy Settings" on the left. This will determine where your profile will show to other members. However, clicking on any of these will decrease your chances of meeting new and exciting men.
 
2. Can I block certain users from IM'ing me?
Yes, you can. Just click on the "Block User" link and that user will no longer be able to contact you.
